Jamie Arthur (born 17 December 1979 in Aberdeen) is a boxer from Cwmbran, Wales, who won the gold medal in the men's lightweight division at the 2002 Commonwealth Games in Manchester, United Kingdom. Arthur turned professional in 2003 with Frank Warren winning his first nine contests until he lost two consecutive fights in 2005.

After nearly three years out of the ring Jamie returned to boxing under the management of Chris Sanigar. Jamie went on to win the Welsh super featherweight title in 2008 stopping Dai Davies in two rounds. In March 2010 Jamie fought for the British featherweight title, losing to Martin Lindsay by unanimous decision. In May 2010 Jamie competed at short notice in the Prizefighter series at super bantamweight, beating Robbie Turley in his quarter final before losing to the undefeated Ricky Owen in the semi final.

 

The highlight of Jamie’s pro career came in October 2010 at The Troxy, London where he captured the Commonwealth Super Bantamweight Title with a unanimous points victory over Scotland’s Kris Hughes.

 

On 5th February 2011 Jamie challenged Jason Booth for the British Super Bantamweight Title with his own Commonwealth Title on the line.  Booth took the decision on the judges card at the end of 12 tough rounds, two giving him the fight 117-112 and 115-113 with Richie Davies scoring 115-114 in Arthur's favour.
