
Jerry boxed as an amateur for his home country of Mauritius. Jerry had a distinguished amateur career winning gold at the 1985 & 1990 Indian Ocean Island Games and reaching the Quarter finals of the 1987 African Games. Jerry also took on the role as National Team Coach for Under 15’s from 1987-1990.
Jerry arrived in UK in 1990 and boxed for the Lynn Amateur Boxing Club. A year later Jerry turned pro with Manager Billy Aird based in London and had 19 pro fights until he retired in 1996. After a break from boxing Jerry teamed up with Chris Sanigar in 2003 and began training new professional boxers Riaz Durgahed and Judex Meemea. Jerry continues to train boxers based in theLondonarea including Riaz, Judex and Michael Frontin.
