Michael Jones nick-named "The Destiny" from Liverpool, was undefeated in his first 15 fights when he challenged for the Commonwealth Light Middleweight Title in May 2005.  Michael stopped African Joshua Onyango in the sixth round in front of his hometown fans at the Everton Park Sports Centre.  A year later at the same venue Michael boxed Jamie Moore for the vacant British Light Middleweight Title losing on points.

After three straight wins Michael Jones won the British title in his second fight with Jamie Moore on November 26th 2004, when Moore was disqualified in round three for hitting on the break. However Michael lost the title in his first defence, a rubber match with Moore on the 8th July 2005. In that fight Jamie Moore hit the deck twice in the third, but came back to knock Jones down twice in the fifth and again in the sixth, before referee Marcus McDonnell waved the fight off at 1:04 of the sixth to recrown Moore as champion.

Michael came back with three wins on the trot before losing a January 25th 2007 European title challenge to Italian Michele Piccirillo, being stopped on a twelfth round TKO. Michael has not fought since, his record stands at 24-3 (10 KOs).
