
Steve Bendall was born on the 1st December 1973 in Coventry, West Midlands. As an amateur boxer representing the Triumph Amateur Boxing Club in Coventry, he achieved an impressive total of 116 contests, with 96 wins.
During this early part of his boxing career, middleweight Steve represented England on 20 occasions, winning a total of 5 National Titles and also reaching the National finals of 3 other contests. In 1996, Steve represented England in the European Championships which were also the Olympic Qualifiers for that year. On behalf of England, as an amateur Steve has won Bronze, Silver and Gold medals in various multi-national tournaments and a Gold medal in 1996....which placed him in contention for a wild card to the Olympics.
In 1997 at the age of 23 years, Steve turned professional winning all his first 22 fights and achieving both the W.B.U. Inter-Continental and the I.B.O. Inter-Continental titles and thus becoming the mandatory contender for the British title. He has been a challenger for the British, European and Commonwealth titles and was English Champion in a career of 33 fights with 29 Wins and just 5 losses.
Steve now runs the new Fighting Fit Gym in Bournemouh.
